Season 2 | Episode 7: "Laughing"
Have you heard the one about the Lacanian who made a podcast on laughter? They say it's hysterical.
Thank you, thank you. We'll be here all week.
In this episode of Zeugma, Jake Cowan digs into just what tickles our funny bones. To lend a hand, Jake asked Charles Rogers -- the co-writer and director of the award-winning satirical film Fort Tilden -- and Austin comedian Justin Davidson to talk about just what cracks them up.

In this installment, Jake Cowan delves into what makes us laugh. Well, what makes *him* laugh, at least. To help out, he's invited two professional wise guys into his dining room to try and make him crack up. First, Jake talks to filmmaker Charles Rogers, the co-writer and co-director of the satirical movie, Fort Tilden, which won the Grand Jury prize at the 2014 SXSW film festival. They discuss a mutual love for the Marx brothers, the difficulties of crafting a feature-length comedy, and the laughter of cavemen. After that, Austin comedian Justin Davidson joins the conversation to share his thoughts on performing for a live audience, the difference between The Simpsons and Family Guy, and the humor of night terrors.
